Long Beach: A Classic Car Destination
Long Beach has long been a hub for car culture in Southern California. With its wide boulevards, waterfront location, and proximity to the greater LA car scene, it's a natural gathering point for classic car enthusiasts.
Local Car Shows and Events
The Long Beach area hosts car shows year-round thanks to the mild Southern California climate. Weekly meet-ups, charity car shows, and major events draw everything from pre-war Studebakers to 1970s muscle cars.
The annual Long Beach Motorama, held at the city's waterfront, is one of the largest custom and classic car events in the region. It features hundreds of vehicles, live music, and vendor booths.
Weekly Meet-Ups
Several cruise nights and informal meet-ups happen throughout the South Bay. Local diners and drive-in restaurants often host weekly gatherings where enthusiasts show off their builds and swap stories.
Resources for Classic Car Owners
Long Beach and the surrounding area offer everything a classic car owner needs: specialty machine shops, upholstery specialists, chrome plating services, and of course, restoration shops like ours.
The Studebaker Connection
Long Beach has a special connection to Studebaker history. Our shop, Studebaker Restoration, Ltd., has been preserving these American classics for years, and we regularly see Studebakers from across Southern California brought to our Long Beach facility.
